Brooke explores the darkness and light in people, and her work looks at that juxtaposition. As a self-portrait artist, she photographs herself and becomes the character of dreams inspired by a childhood of intense imagination and fear.
Well, she is so famous that I don’t know what to say about her, but what I can just mention is that she is very good at what she does: digital composition and dream-like photography. But something that troubles me is this eternal question (especially in the digital era): how much is too much? I wouldn’t say this is too much Photoshop work, and most people would love to look at these works, but something I am trying to understand is if they are still categorised as photography. or digital art, or in some special category itself? What exactly is “photography” these days? Is digital image-making considered photography? I love digital image crafting, but sometimes I feel like, Am I doing the right thing, or will there be a bunch of digital images living somewhere on the internet someday?
