As an artist, I am attracted by the nexus between technology and art and how these two might be combined to produce uncanny, hyper-realistic images that challenge our understanding of reality. The main areas of my work are digital staged photography and digital art, which give me the freedom to mix different components to produce both stylish and thought-provoking images.
My process typically involves staged photography and then using digital image-making tools to enhance and manipulate the images. By combining elements of photography with digitally made images, I am able to create an atmosphere that is both realistic and surreal and blurs the boundaries between the two. Also, I am particularly drawn to the use of colour and light and the ways in which these elements can be used to create a sense of depth and texture.
In general, my work is a synthesis of ancient and modern, blending the traditional motifs and elements of Persian narratives with the cutting-edge technology of digital media. By manipulating photographic images, I create surreal and dreamlike landscapes that are at once familiar and otherworldly.
