Jean-Marie Gitard, alias Mr. Strange, is a French artist living and working in Sète. Mr Strange handles surrealism with a certain derision and offers a reflection on the world that is sometimes poetic, sometimes caustic but always sharp. He works mainly on a digital medium.
Gitard’s use of symbolism, political events, and personal interpretation of his surroundings are in the same direction as mine. Utilising staged photography and digitally created objects and backgrounds is quite similar to my approach to digital imaging.
