Through his mastery of colour, unique composition, and imaginative narratives, LaChapelle began to expand the vernacular of photography. A very good example of staged photography that does not need to be similar to Gregory Crewdson or Jeff Wall’s works What is intriguing to me about his staged photography is the use of colours and compositions. There are a lot of stories happening simultaneously, and there are an enormous amount of details in his work. I believe this is what keeps the spectator engaged with all of his work.
